Today we have news that Blackmagic has released their own RAW codec, named Blackmagic RAW. ![]() So the debate started, when were other NLEs apart from FCPX going to support the new codec? The codec could maintain all the sensor data from a camera, but have a small file size and the convenience of the ProRes format. When Apple announced ProRes RAW at NAB in April, it was indeed revolutionary. An interesting development on the first day at IBC in Amsterdam, Blackmagic has announced their very own RAW codec.
